Integrating Videos with WooCommerce: A Contentful Tutorial

As technology advances, more and more businesses want to integrate videos on Contentful for their WooCommerce stores. This integration enables a seamless and engaging experience for customers, including the ability to view product videos, customer testimonials, and more. In this article, we’ll walk through the steps required to integrate videos with Contentful for WooCommerce.

To get started, you need to have Contentful and WooCommerce set up. Once these platforms are connected, you need to create a “content type” in Contentful to host the video assets. This is the field where you can assign your videos, e.g. YouTube URL or Vimeo URL. With this set, you then need to connect the “Content Type” (the place where you save the video) to the “Products” type in WooCommerce.

The next step is to create the “video variant”. This is the product variant that allows customers to view the video in the WooCommerce store. You can easily create the “video variant” in Contentful and apply the video resource to it. Once all of this is set up, you can connect the “video variant” to the “product”. This will integrate the product video into the WooCommerce backend.

The last step is to add the video in WooCommerce. The video can be added as a gallery item or linked to a product page with the appropriate data. This can be done by adding a shortcode to the product page that can get the video from Contentful.

Video integration with Contentful for WooCommerce is a great way to attract customers and increase sales. Setup is simple and straightforward, designed to add value to your products and shopping experience.
